Lori M. Smatt, D.C.


Dr. Lori M. Smatt, Director and Founder of the Smatt Family Chiropractic, has been in private practice since 1983. A graduate of Life Chiropractic College, Diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, member of the International Chiropractors Association and the New York Chiropractic Council. Dr. Smatt was instrumental in the passage and enforcement of the Insurance Equality Law in 1997 which requires insurance companies to provide coverage for Chiropractic Care. Dr. Smatt initiated Kid's Day America to Pleasantville, N.Y. Kid's Day America is a day set aside every year to educate the public on Children's Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness. Dr. Smatt was presented with a Proclamation endorsing Kids Day America by Governor George E. Pataki, District Attorney Jeanine Pirro, Mayor John Nonna of Pleasantville, N.Y. and Legislator Suzanne Swanson. Dr. Smatt has lectured throughout Westchester County about the importance of Chiropractic care for children. Dr. Smatt is also the founder of the Children's Chiropractic Information Center which is available at Smatt Family Chiropractic during normal business hours.  This is where you can gather information to make informative health care choices for your children. Dr. Smatt also teaches yoga to senior citizens in her community and teaches children on proper spinal hygiene and preventative awareness regarding sports injuries, backpack safety and exercise. Dr. Smatt was appointed to the Advisory Board, October, 2008 to Healthcorps, Founder, Dr. Mehmet Oz.  Dr. Smatt co-authored the chiropractic curriculum for Healthcorps emphasizing diet, exercise, fitness including chiropractic and mental resilience. The curriculum is presently in 45 high schools, in 11 states as of November 2010.  Dr. Smatt has three children, Lauren, Nicholas and Kara and resides in Pleasantville, N.Y.
